Corruption is a form of dishonest or unethical practices, often performed by people with authority, to obtain unlawful benefits for the interest of themselves. |
The corruption problem has been around in Thailand for over decades. According to the 2015 Corruption Perceptions Index, Thailand received the score of 38 out of 100 from the public sector (0 is highly corrupt while 100 means very clean), making Thailand rank 76 in the world.
Politics is very essential for everyone in the society, especially in Thailand where democracy is developing. Our group would like to know the magnitude of the corruption taking place and how cost consuming the corruption in Thailand is, especially when it comes to general elections and specifically, vote buying. There are several research studies about this case which indicates that one-third of the Thai population were offered money to vote for a particular party.
Our Focus
We are focusing on the corruption in political transactions in Thailand, especially in Vote-Buying in general elections. In this website, we will explain the root causes of Vote-Buying, why it still occurs in Thailand today and how this can link to other types of corruption in our country. We will also show the magnitude of the impact to society. We hope our website not only enhances the understanding of vote-buying but also inspires each individual to make changes and fight together against Vote- Buying in the country.
